Swimming

From the campsite there are several options for swimming. Our campsite itself has no swimming facilities, but there are plenty of great alternatives. We have set these out below.

Play pond 't Nije Hemelriek (3 km)

A play pond 3 kilometres away, ‘t Nije Hemelriek has been known for years as the perfect place in the summer to put your towel on the sand and enjoy the sun, water and beach. Because of the tropically coloured water, the almost impenetrable bushes that line the lake and the white beaches, many people go to ‘t Nije Hemelriek to cool off.
In addition, there’s a playground and sunbathing area with play equipment, a kiosk for the necessary refreshments and a building with men’s and women’s toilets. And after you’re done sunbathing you can cool down and enjoy yourself on the terrace of restaurant ‘t Nije Hemelriek. ‘t Nije Hemelriek is suitable for families with young children.

Close to the recreational pond ’t Nije Hemelriek you’ll find the swimming lake ’t Gasselterveld. This lake, which is 50 metres deep in the centre, is a former sand excavation site. On the east side of the lake a shallower part was created, with a line of floating balls indicating the point where it gets deeper.
