Yes, each motorhome pitch has an artificial grass area that is specifically intended for placing an awning. The size of this area is 4.0 x 2.5 metres. Full awnings or tents are not permitted on the motorhome pitches.

Yes, the motorhome pitches are equipped with a water tap and a grey water disposal point. You can dispose of your grey water here. The chemical toilet can be emptied at the designated disposal facility near the sanitary buildings.

Yes, as a guest staying on a motorhome pitch, you can make use of the facilities at Camping de Berken. These include the sanitary building, the campsite shop, the laundry facilities, the common room and the bread roll service. This allows you to combine the convenience of a motorhome pitch with the comfort of the campsite.

Each pitch is standard equipped with 10 A (≈ 2300 watts) with a euro connection. An upgrade to 16 A (≈ 3680 watts) is possible for a surcharge of € 2.50 per day.

The rate is € 0.60 per kWh. The average consumption for a caravan is around 3 to 4 kWh per day. This usually means the use of a refrigerator, coffee machine, kettle, charging mobile phones and lighting. The costs then average € 1.80 to € 2.40 per day.

Please note: tents and folding trailers generally use hardly any electricity (unless electric heating is used frequently). On average, this is less than 1 kWh per day.

When using electric heating (when it is switched on for a longer period), boilers, air conditioning or underfloor heating, consumption can increase to approximately 8 to 20 kWh per day. However, this occurs only occasionally. At reception, we can inform you about your current electricity consumption. Malfunctions are resolved between 8.00 am and 10.00 pm.

The standard electricity connection on the motorhome, Comfort, Comfort XL and private sanitary pitches is 10 Ampere. This means that appliances with a total output of up to 2200 Watts can be used at the same time. Especially when using an electric heater, it is important to check the maximum wattage of this heater. In that case, it is often not possible to use a kettle or coffee machine at the same time.

If you wish to use more appliances simultaneously, it is possible to increase the maximum Ampere to 16 Ampere (3680 Watts). The additional costs are € 2.50 per day.

On the spot of the awning / canopy there’s a piece of artificial grass that is 4 metres wide and 2.5 metres long. Because of this size, your awning usually completely covers the piece of artificial grass. It also means that there’s a fixed set-up for campervans, caravans, tents and pop-up campers. If your awning doesn’t completely cover the artificial grass, you may drive your steel tent pegs through the artificial grass.

You can put any mat you want on top of the artificial grass. Often our guests don’t put anything on top of it, because of the absorbing nature of the artificial grass. In front of the artificial grass you may only put a ‘grow-through mat’ (mat with actual holes), but preferably nothing. This ensures that your pitch will always stay green and clean!

In terms of TV channels, we cann't guarantee the channels we can offer as we are dependent on our provider in this regard. In order to view the channels, you need a TV with a DVB-t tuner. Analogue signals are no longer transmitted. If you have any doubts, please contact us.

In order to keep our prices reasonable, we are unable to provide more than 30 pitches with a television signal. You can indicate this when booking if you are interested. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that these will still be available. Do you have a satellite dish? Please indicate this in advance so that you can get a pitch with satellite reception.

Pets are only allowed in the 2-person Berkenstudio, 4-person rental chalet with dog and the 8/10 persoons vakantiehuis. Pets are not allowed in the other rental accommodations.

Yes. Several nature cottages are located near small play areas, and the campsite has an indoor play area (April to September). Family attractions such as the Boomkroonpad, Attractiepark Drouwenerzand, the Hunebedcentrum and ’t Nije Hemelriekje are also close

The nature cottages are situated on the forest edge of Camping de Berken, next to the Drouwenerzand and just a few minutes’ drive from the village green village of Gasselte. From your accommodation, you can walk straight into the forest.

Dogs of our campers are allowed, with a maximum of 3 dogs per pitch. For rental accommodations, dogs are only allowed in the 2-person Berkenstudio’s, the 4-person rental chalets with dog, and the 8/10-person holiday home. Your dog(s) must be kept on a leash at all times, including on your pitch. This means that your dog(s) must be registered and must stay overnight on the campsite.

Please note: Dogs of visitors are not allowed. Your own dog may therefore also not visit.

For camping pitches, an early arrival is possible, depending on availability. Unfortunately, this is not possible for rental accommodations.
One day before your arrival, we will know whether it is possible to add an early arrival. Therefore, please contact us one day before arrival, so we can check this for you.
If an early arrival is possible, you are welcome from 9.00 am.

Costs for an early arrival:

For motorhomes, a surcharge of € 5 applies.

For tent pitches, Comfort pitches, Comfort XL pitches and Comfort pitches with private sanitary facilities, a surcharge of € 7.50 applies.

This is possible for stays of 4 days or more. If you book for a shorter period, we reserve the right to change the pitch number if this suits us better. You will of course be informed of this in good time.

We charge a fee for preferred bookings:

For camping pitches: € 7.50
For rental accommodations: € 15

You can book a late departure one day in advance at the earliest, provided the pitch or accommodation is not booked the next day.

You can request this at reception until 11am on the day of your departure. At reception, we will then check whether a late departure is possible.

If you meet the conditions, you can use your pitch and the facilities on the departure day until 21:00 at the latest. Are you leaving in the evening? Then we will ask you to pay any outstanding invoices and exchange your barrier card (if received) for an exit token between 1 pm and 4 pm.

Are you leaving outside reception opening hours? Then your barrier card will be exchanged for an exit token

Late departure charges (if possible):

Motorhome pitch: 10 euros

Tent pitch, Comfort pitch XL, Comfort pitch with private sanitary facilities: 15 euros

Rental accommodation: 30 euros

Regular bicycles and electric bicycles can be rented at the reception. These are not available in unlimited numbers, so it is often advisable to inform us in advance if you would like to rent bicycles. We can then reserve them for you. We have ladies’ and men’s bicycles with front and/or rear child seats. We also have one mum bike available for rent. The costs for regular bicycles are € 12.00 per day or € 60.00 per week. For e-bikes, the price is € 29.50 per day and € 147.50 per week. For a seat, the cost is € 4.00 per day per seat.

Mountain bikes can be rented in Gasselte at Fietsverhuur Gasselte.

Discounts apply per family, per pitch and per booking. If you book multiple pitches or accommodations, the discount is applied separately per pitch.

No, the reservation costs apply per accommodation or pitch. Per reservation, one accommodation or pitch can be booked for a continuous period.

Within three days after your reservation of a camping pitch or rental accommodation, we require a deposit of 50% of the total invoice amount. No later than two weeks before the start of your stay, the remaining amount must be paid. If you make a reservation less than 14 days before your stay, the full amount must be paid in one payment.

We apply the HISWA/RECRON standard conditions for cancellations.

No, a reservation cannot be cancelled free of charge. We apply the RECRON conditions:

If cancelled up to 3 months before arrival, you pay 15% of the rental amount.
Up to 2 months before arrival, you pay 50%.
Up to 1 month before arrival, you pay 75%.
Within 1 month before arrival, you pay 90%.
If cancelled on the day of arrival, you pay 100%.
