As winter arrives and the camping season seems miles away, it is good to think of something warm. By this we do not mean a cup of hot chocolate or a glass of mulled wine, but a product that will certainly appeal to the true camping enthusiast: the sleeping bag. Sleeping bags come in all sorts of designs and the right one will keep you warm.

Campers using a caravan, hiker's hut or chalet increasingly bring their comfortable duvet from home. There is nothing wrong with that, but there is a drawback: duvets take up a lot of space in the car. Sleeping bags are much lighter and more compact and offer hardly any less comfort than you are used to at home.

Experience the real camping feeling

A sleeping bag is simply part of the real camping experience. If you travel by tent, a sleeping bag is ideal to keep you warm at night. Don't forget that the nights in the Netherlands can also cool down considerably in summer. Cold feet keep you from sleeping and that is not the intention.

There are three types of sleeping bags: the mummy sleeping bag, the blanket sleeping bag and the egg-shaped sleeping bag. The first is only of interest to winter campers. You are literally packed in it like a mummy. The second, the blanket sleeping bag, is the most common. You are probably familiar with this version. It offers optimal space and because you can zip it all the way open, you can use it as a blanket. Especially when it is very warm at night, this can be a great advantage.

Children's sleeping bags

A real trend in sleeping bag land is the egg-shaped sleeping bag. Looking like a futuristic cocoon, it offers plenty of space in the middle, but is tighter and therefore warmer at the feet and neck. It is a real eye-catcher and comes in fun, modern colours, sometimes even with a nice hood attached.

Of course, there are also special sleeping bags for children. You will certainly please them with such a trendy egg-shaped model. They come in the nicest prints and colours. Sleeping like a princess, or like Freek Vonk, in a sleeping bag with a cool camouflage pattern, what children wouldn't want? A nice Saint Nicholas gift idea, perhaps.

Because let's be honest: for the smallest campers, the camping experience is only complete with their own sleeping bag. It allows them to experience for once what it is like to sleep under the bare Drenthe sky. And you can proudly take a cool sleeping bag like that to a pyjama party!
